Another Black man in the US has become a victim of police brutality after being tased and fatally shot by law enforcement in Louisiana.

According to Louisiana State Police, Trayford Pellerin, 31, of Lafayette died Friday night after being shot 11 times in an incident that was captured on video posted to twitter early Saturday.

Lafayette La PD Shoot Citizen He is currently hospitalized. Im posting this video before the police & the media tell us everything about this man, before they name the government officials who shot him. Pellerin was apparantly carrying a knife when he was tased and was walking away from police toward a convenience store, a witness told the Daily Advertiser.

Six officers pointed guns at him and he was shot nearly a dozen times by the time he reached the door of the Shell gas station.

"When I heard the gunshots, I couldnt hold my phone like I was first filming," witness Rickasha Montgomery told the Advertiser.

"I feel kind of scared about it. Im traumatized. Youre so used to hearing about this, but I never thought I would experience it."

The American Civil Liberties Union described the shooting as a "horrific and deadly incident of police violence against a Black person."

Meanwhile, a crowd of protesters demonstrated against the latest fatal police shooting on Saturday with officers in riot gear firing what appeared to be tear gas after them to disperse.

Police brutality against African Americans is rampant in the United States. The latest incident comes after Anthony McClain, the 32-year-old father of three, was shot and killed during a traffic stop last week, with police claiming that the man had pulled a handgun while running from officers.

On Thursday, California police released the video of the shooting in which McClain can be seen fleeing on foot with what appears to be something shiny around his waistband which police claimed was a pistol.

After running a short distance with officers chasing him, McClain turned and looked at them over his right shoulder. Police said they feared he was turning back to shoot at them, and so the officer closest to McClain shot at him twice.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Mass protests have been held in recent months following the brutal murder of unarmed African American George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.

The 46-year-old died after a white officer knelt on his neck and pinned him to the ground for nine minutes in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25.
